2 weeks of hols - gone, just like that.
makes you wonder what
you've been doin' the whole time :/

thankfully, my hols weren't too unproductive.
mr. rao kept me busy for the 1st week,
and during the last 2 days,
i went with liz, et, esther, shane and cow
to this completely "awesome!!" conference :)

it was called Accelerate 2005,
and man, being there was like
breathing the fresh air in an endless paradise.
i really needed that.
thank God, liz and et
that i got my bum over there.
before A. 2005,
life with God was looking
more and more.... boring.
*ouch*, huh?
but i'm moving back
into the ball game now :)

i picked up a really cute
and ticklishly true expression :P
"don't go around sucking lemons!"
i. e. don't go around with a sour face;
think it's awfully funny.
pastor jeff made us go on lemon-sucking patrol
before he started on his messages :P
he made sure all of us had a nice, big grin
plastered to our faces before he began.

overall, the conference was really good.
it reminded me of how great He is,
and how much i truly, madly need Him.
there was this particular msg
that really stirred me.
pastor rachel
(a decidedly chinese lady with
a rapid aussy accent :P)
spoke really well, and everything she said
made so much sense.
i think it wasn't so much her msg that touched me,
but rather her sincere, complete love for God.

she cried, you know,
while speaking to us.
it made esther tear,
and i nearly started bawling myself.
her voice was shaking with so much raw emotion
that it was difficult not to be touched.
it was when she was talking about
one of the most difficult times of her life.

she wasn't the soppy type, mind you.
she was outspoken, creative, funny,
and very intelligent.
you couldn't help admiring+liking her
from the very moment she started talking.
hearing her voice wavering at first,
i thought i was utterly mistaken.
it must have had a huge impact on her life,
that period of time she was talking about.
she said it was the time
she truly learnt how to depend on God.

"the devil says:
'you're not special, you're not independant.
you can't even get a job.',
but God says:
'he's right, you know.
you're not special,
I make you special.
you're not independant,
you're dependant on me.
[because of that]
you're going to get this job.' "

dunno la.
she was an amazing girl,
with an amazing passion for God.
wanted so much to talk to her,
but we had to leave before she
had an outer call.
s'the only thing i regret
bout that conference.

i'm bloggin more for my own benefit
than nethin else today.
i need to remember this...
all this...
about that girl
(she must have been in her 30s already,
but somehow, i can't think
of her as nethin else but a girl)
and how much God is to her.
about the things she said,
how she said them...
how it affected me.

mm.
stoppin here now.
